How do we not allow things to stress us? What's your method?

1

It is very rare to get through a single day without coming across at least one stressed person.

So, as you've opened the question, let me ask you:

Have you developed a mechanism or your own method to deal with stress?

It could be anything: Thinking of a joke, meditating, thinking of God or just shifting your mindset.

Personally, I try to shift my focus or act on the matter, so that I choose peace of mind.

What about you:

How do you not allow things to stress you?

Hey Komal- besides this one's above, I found when my mind is scattered and things random thoughts it gets stressed. So doing Japa, helps it channelized to one thought and reduce stress. Indian classical music especially instrumental life flute or violin helps calm my nerves too.

I try to shift my thoughts to meeting with Swamiji in his personal room. Each time I do this, I find myself relaxed and in control. A certain acceptance comes that puts everything in perspective. He is my mantra, he is the armor, he is my lifeline.

Let's say it 3 times together, We love you Swamiji 😍😍😍

All Glories to Swamiji alone 🌼🌼🌼

Taking one thing at a time helps. So does breathing. I mean, really breathing. And of course meditation and mantra chant. For me it also works giving me plenty of time, (rushing stresses me out) making a list of what needs to be done, looked at, etc. Also getting plenty of sleep, eating proper foods and drinking PLENTY of water. I hope this helps. 🤗

Taking a small pause, thinking about next right ACTIONS which are in my control  has helped me enormously. Swamiji's teachings along with spiritual inclination are always the back bones.

The realization that the problems are always outside me.They are insignificant in nature compared to my true self. I surrender to my beloved God and allow his divine power to work through me. I am not limited then in my capabilities and grit to manage any situations, people and constraints.

Peril of seeing a question late, is that there are already many esteemed thinkers who have already grilled, roasted and fried the topic to death. - Another source of stress 😥

Ok on a serious note, stress due to anything increases as keep thinking about that 'thing'. The moment we draw attention away and focus on something else, stress not only reduces, but disappears, at least for that moment.

I generally play wordle the first think in the morning, on the shit pot and get stressed if the game has outlived the loo-routine. No problem, just get out, get fresh, have the morning cup of tea and relook at the game and BAM - I get it in a blink.

In reality, the word 'stress' is pure fiction. There is no phyisical condition or a body part which does anything to cause 'stress'. So if the problem is imaginary, the solution also should be. No? Well we re fortunate that like Swamiji, there are many thinkers who have thrashed this topic to death (real death when applied).

So live for today, plan for tomorrow, Party Tonight!
