Enlightenment is the answer if you want to transcend all the negativity once and for all — unhappy, unsatisfied, heart-broken, betrayed, depressed, sad, angry, worried, miserable and all the similar words that you can think of.

More than 4300 religions across 200+ countries on this planet.. still only a handful of people who are Enlightened, interesting, isn’t it? My mind wonders why only a handful and yet it’s not an interesting topic for a bigger population — where are the peeps looking for an opportunity to be famous, wanna show the world that they are special, demonstrate their extra-ordinary abilities to standout from the crowd blah blah.

Well the answer is, all that I mentioned above is done by the mind but when it comes to know the real SELF one has to transcend the mind, duh. Btw fun fact is – the mind will help transcend itself to establish the One in that primal state.

Lets talk about the solution:

All the major religions talk about numerous ways to attain the REAL SELF (Enlightenment). The main ones are —

  1. Path of devotion (to God, Guru, Son or Servant of God)
  2. Path of yoga (spread across the world in various shapes and forms)
  3. Path of action/karma (be kind to everyone, love thy neighbor)
  4. Path of knowledge (remove ignorance and understand your real nature)

In this series of articles I may shed some light on my own journey and at the same time elaborate on ‘Path of knowledge’. I believe some intelligent folks will be attracted to this path by default because all that is needed here is a ‘clear understanding’ and boom you’re happy forever. Of course not by waving a magic wand, it needs some work and before that you need to find out which path suits or attracts you at this time (Fun fact: All four paths are actually ONE as they are so inter-twined). Personally, I follow all four paths – started with ‘Path of devotion’ (since my childhood, like most of us), practiced Yoga for about 1.5 years and finally landed on ‘Path of knowledge’ (teachings of non-duality by Sri Ramana Maharshi and scriptures such as Bhagvad Gita, Ashtavakra Gita, Ribhu Gita). ‘Path of good action/karma’ is a subset of all the other paths unless someone is solely focused on social upliftment.

Also, I have read and listened to Osho extensively, practiced all of the yoga/meditation courses provided by Isha foundation of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, and read Om Swami ji’s books. All of this benefited and amplified the progression towards my journey. I can relate more closely to Swami ji and thus I am here 🙂
