Earlier I have written a post on Swami Sharnanandji. This Post is about Swami Ramsukhdasji Maharaj. The most significant impact on my life from whom books I am inspired, I can say is Swami Ramsukhdasji, without any doubt. I can write so much but I try to condense as much as I can.

Prologue

It was either 1992/1996 I don’t remember correctly Swami Ramsukhdasji came for Satsang in my hometown. From a very little age I am fond of reading comics, balhans, Nandan, champak etc. At that time, my mother brought so many books of Gita press from Swamiji’s Satsang. (Gitapress is the sole publisher of Swamiji’s books at that time). I can say I got to know of Swamiji, the first time after reading those books. (though I am not able to properly understand what is written in those due to little age).

Swamiji Ramsukhdasji Maharaj was a Great holy person who committed his entire life in finding how people can accomplish their preeminent profound government assistance (param-Kalyana) rapidly and easily. He dug profound and long into the endless expanse of the Bhagavad Geeta and removed numerous exceptional diamonds of interesting atmosphere. He turned into a sadhu at four years old and lived to the ready period of recent years. His three books, Sadhak-Sanjeevani, Gita Prabodhani, and Gita Darpan address the absolute most extensive understandings of the Gita at any point endeavored. It won’t be an embellishment to say that Sadhak-Sanjeevani is verily Swamiji’s Spiritual Testament for the searchers, Such was Swamijiís dedication to the Gita that he kept on pondering over its import endlessly and kept on sharing his new insights till the very last moments of his life.

Sadhak Sanjeevani

Swamiji’s magnum opus Sadhak-Sanjeevani was an undertaking of epic proportions which took more than ten years to commit to writing. It incorporates his key insights gleaned over a lifetime study of the Gita. While narrating his commentary on the Bhagavad Gita, Swamiji often used to remark that it should be written in such a way that its readers should immediately be able to awaken to the knowledge of the Essential Reality (tattva-jnana). All of Swamijiís writings and discourses (pravachans) are marked by this blessed quality. Application Link (for sadhak-sanjeevani)

At the conclusion of Sadhak-Sanjeevani, Swamiji had only this to remark about the final message of the Gita: “Taking refuge in the Lord (Sarnagati) is the quintessence of the entire message of the Gita. In surrendering to the Lord lies the culmination of its teachings. The devotee who has taken refuge in the Lord accepts firmly the belief that ” I am God’s and God is mine.” Then the devotee becomes forever free from the pangs of fear, sorrow, and worry.”

Saint’s Saint

He was actually a saint’s saint! He ceaselessly devoted all his waking hours to pondering over the deep mysteries of the Gita. The Gita permeated in every atom of his body, mind, and soul.  This kind of dedication to a single scripture has not been seen before! Swami Ramsukhdasji lived all his life utter selflessly, for his self had forever been subsumed in the Supreme Reality of Vasudev: Sarvam.

He till the age of more than one hundred and one(101) years, remained whole-heartedly engaged in the promotion of “God’s feelings in the Gita”!
Staying away from personal propaganda, the main goal of his life was to propagate God and his voice “Gita”.

No Photograph, No Ashram

He kept away from getting his photo taken, getting his feet touched, getting worship done, making disciples, accepting gifts, collecting money and things, building ashrams, forming a group, etc., and thus he did not put people on his side rather than “On God’s side”.
His only goal was “how to be the welfare of man only” in the shortest possible time and with the easiest way! His books leave an indelible impression on the heart of the readers, because these books are not written on the basis of scholarship, but are written on the basis of experience!

Some of the main principles of Shri Swamiji Maharaj

(1) Man only has the birth right to “realize God”!

(2) In the varna-ashram, religion, sect, dress, country etc. in which a man is, he can do his welfare while living there!

(3) Man can only do his welfare in every situation!

(4) The attainment of worldly things is done by doing karma, but the attainment of God is by not doing anything!

Reading his literature and listening to his voice clears up the misconceptions about “our spiritual progress”.
