While I didn’t necessarily question the existence of God, there was an agnostic undercurrent. However, when I spent 40 days in partial-solitude at Sri Badrika Ashram, all my doubts got cleared. Today I can say with certainty that there is God! Not just that, God can manifest forms when invited with pure love.

Unlike what many say, God doesn’t care about our praises. The Divine merely wants us to become crystal clear from within and then call out once with pure love. Like a baby calls out to the mother.

In a forum I was on, someone said, “God wants you to praise him/her. That’s arrogance!” Their comment made me laugh at their ignorance!

Like most of us know, it is God’s divine compassion. When we become purified from within, we will be peaceful and happy. That’s what God wishes — to give us eternal peace and love.

In Sanatana Dharma, the Divine may be of any form, but they are always a mixture of feminine and masculine energies. The same applies to Sri Hari as well. Each morning, Sri Hari wakes up royally to the chanting of Vishnu Sahasranamam. And, each night, the Divine is caressed to sleep with the chanting of Lalita Sahasranamam. Keeping the masculine and feminine in mind, Swami has written a beautiful Aarti for Sri Hari.

With Divine grace, I enjoyed converting that Aarti song into a Namavali, a List of Epithets of 50 names. The Divine Mother is Panchashat Peetha Roopini, the one who shows her presence in the form of 50 Shakti-Peetha or energy centers. I’m sure it isn’t a coincidence that the Divine Sri Hari chose to become the Divine with 50 names! The below transliteration of this Aarti is in IAST roman scripts. If you are new to IAST, please check the Pronunciation page.

*****

Also, in this post, I wish to honor two special people. When I was at the Ashram for 40 days, they took care of my household. I couldn’t have completed my spiritual Sadhana without their support. Gratitude to my parents-in-law Sundaram (@vvs) and Lalitha (@lally). To support my purpose of sorting through the scriptures, like my parents, they too have sacrificed their routine interactions with me. They’ve just joined this forum. I extend my warm welcome to them!
