DISCOURSE – 4 (March 30, 2021)

32:01 – 40:07 : No matter if the other person is like an owl, but it is you only who has to see the good qualities in that person. I have given you this example innumerable times, that the people who come here, why do they come? It is because of “Love” only. I keep harsh words only for the people near me, for the rest, I only have sweet words. (Laughter). Just joking. 

It is the sweetness in your words which matter, isn’t it?

अनुद्वेगकरं वाक्यं सत्यं प्रियहितं च यत् |
स्वाध्यायाभ्यसनं चैव वाङ्मयं तप उच्यते || 

anudvega-karaṁ vākyaṁ satyaṁ priya-hitaṁ cha yat
svādhyāyābhyasanaṁ chaiva vāṅ-mayaṁ tapa uchyate

Words that do not cause distress, are truthful, inoffensive, and beneficial, as well as the regular recitation of the Vedic scriptures—these are declared as the austerity of speech.

– Bhagavad Gita Chapter 17, Verse 15

Those words which are inoffensive, which don’t cause discomfort in the other people. And, those words are truthful too. Speaking sweet words. How difficult is it?

And you will be shocked to know that : यदि आप उस दौड़ में भागना छोड़ दें, कि श्रेष्ट कौन है, कि मैं तुमसे ज़्यादा बढ़िया हूँ, आप सबकी नज़रों में श्रेष्ट हो जाएंगे। (If you stop running in the race of “who is the best”, that I am better than you, then automatically, you will become the best in everyone’s eyes). 

Because, in all of the four pillars, you will have to put your Ahamkara (False Ego) behind, because this “I am the best” mindset is nothing but a declaration of your Ahamkara (False Ego). There is no other definition other than this. 

So, whom are you trying to convince that “I am the best”! You can check your wallet after making them believe that you are the best, then also, your wallet will have the same amount of money. Neither your bank balance would increase, nor your griefs would lessen, neither your diseases would vanish, all will remain as it is. How heavy foolishness it is! 

On the other hand, if your mind is compassionate, and you are treading the path of Truth, then you will feel so much fulfilled, that you will not even bother whether the other person is regarding you as good or not. 

Awakening the God inside the other person is the fourth pillar of Siddhi. 

सिया राममय सब जग जानी। करउँ प्रनाम जोरि जुग पानी ॥

siya rammaya saba jaga jani, karauom pranaam jori juga paani

Recognising the entire creation to be full of Sita and Rama, I make obeisances to them with joined palms.

With Abhyaas (Practice), it is possible that we can see our Ishta (Deity) in the other person. And as soon as you see Him/Her in the other person, automatically the devotional sentiments would sprout. 

Such beautiful life is, that if you take a pen and paper and start writing what you did in your life, then those 4-5 concerns which you have, those 4-5 difficulties which have been hovering over your mind, you will be stuck on that only. 

And, do you really have to live as if Life is dragging you with it? Or, do you want to live as if Life is seated next to you, and you are about to fly! The decision is Yours. That choice is Yours. 

And mere choice isn’t going to make it happen, you must also give in the required Efforts and Hardwork

जीवन में बिना एक भी मंत्र जपे हुए, यदि आप किसी विशेष सिद्धि को प्राप्त करना चाहते हैं, मैं आपको दावे के साथ कह सकता हूँ, ज़िन्दगी में जो व्यक्ति इन चार चीज़ों को उतार ले, वो सिद्ध हो जाएगा।

(Without chanting a single mantra in life, if you want to acquire any special Siddhi, then I can say with absolute conviction, that the person who inculcates these four pillars in life, He/She will become a Siddha). A Param-Siddha (Ultimate-Siddha).

Else, mere chanting of a mantra would make you a parrot. Nothing better than that. 

आपको क्या बनना है, और कितने serious हो आप उस प्राप्ति के लिए, वो विचार आपको करना है। (What you want to become, and how serious you are to become that, that decision is upto you). No one has the right to tell you what you should be doing in your life, or how you should be leading your life. Live how you want to live. 

Life is very short. With narrow thoughts, narrow intelligence, negative emotions, criticising words, there is no point in living your life. Better than that is becoming a Fakir (a person who lives on alms), and living your life based on what others are giving you.

Of what use is your Knowledge, of what use is your Sanskriti (Tradition/Culture), of what use is your Education, or your Initiation, if you are not able to rise even a bit. If you are not able to bring those changes in yourself, then what is the objective behind all these? What is the meaning of all these? You only tell me. In that case, I don’t consider them of any use. 

Whether you want to be Hameed, or you want to be the doctor, or the principal, that is an individual decision, which is yours only.

From my experience and from my Sadhana, I have already told you the Siddhis which exist, and the rest are all made-up stuff. If someone tells you that those made-up Siddhis exist, then don’t believe them. And if they say that you are a fool, or you are not knowledgeable, then just tell them to prove it! That person would say all sorts of non-sensical things that “Siddhis came to me, and I left them” and so on. He/She is lying. 

He/She may say, “I can catch and hold air” and so on, all rubbish things. 

यामिमां पुष्पितां वाचं प्रवदन्त्यविपश्चित: |
वेदवादरता: पार्थ नान्यदस्तीति वादिन: || 

yāmimāṁ puṣhpitāṁ vāchaṁ pravadanty-avipaśhchitaḥ
veda-vāda-ratāḥ pārtha nānyad astīti vādinaḥ

Those with limited understanding, get attracted to the flowery words of the Vedas, which advocate ostentatious rituals for elevation to the celestial abodes, and presume no higher principle is described in them.

– Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2, Verse 42

That is, they would talk all sorts of beautiful things, but there would be no substance in their words. Please don’t go to such an ignorant person.
