Typically, I stay far away from politics. Talking publically about our political views is nothing but a recipe for disaster. None benefits from it, but everyone gets hurt in the process. At the same time, it has been painful to read the news. So, bear with me here. I am just venting out!

  • What’s happening in Afghanistan is depressing. We can’t even imagine their pain. Religion was supposed to bring peace! What on earth have we done with it?
  • What’s happening in America is extremely sad. COVID-19 has put pressure on the country. People are suffering without jobs, and the government is forced to remove the troops to rebuild their economy. When our home is burning, we won’t be in a position to help others! As is, they’ve already wasted trillions of dollars on meaningless pursuits.
  • What’s happening in India is pathetic. The country is suffering from terrorism for years. Still, politicians (kind of) take a neutral stand on terror in Afghanistan and even worldwide, for that matter.
  • What’s happening in China is hurting. Their government uses every opportunity, including violence in Afghanistan, to behave like a bully. However, they still haven’t given the world a clear explanation for how COVID-19 started.

In all, the world is in a deep mess. There seems to be just suffering everywhere. We all desire to change the world. How do we do that?

The answer is that we can’t change the world!

As Swami says (paraphrased), “I don’t work at changing the world. I work on rebuilding individuals. One person at a time. Each changed person adds to the positivity of the world.”

If we change ourselves, our family will change. If our family changes, the world around it will change. We can cause ripple effects to bring greater levels of change. So, if you genuinely care about the world –
