Why happy moments to be captured

Enjoy the moment, experience , don’t waste time by clicking the photos, these are the comments I used to get , whenever I used to pose with friends or family whenever we used to meet on special occasions.

 I believe many of you will be able to resonate with this situation. Want to share with you my personal story which is linked to the topic.

When my husband was away from home for quite some time for his professional growth,  I  used to miss him , whenever I used to go out for any event, or while celebrating some festival  with my 2 children  . whenever he used to come for vacation, I used to feel that ,  this is the precious moment, to be captured, we don’t know when we are going to meet again as a Family.

Pandemic has created more awareness about how life can be unpredictable. So creating memories has become inevitable part of life.

Photographs are easy way to record little moments that are precious but easily forgotten

I take more pictures than ever now that cameras and smartphones have made photography so much easier.

Capturing a moment in time isn’t just about securing a memory—it can help you appreciate your life more every day.

REASON TO TAKE MORE PICTURES

One  study found that, not only does photography help you to be “in the moment,” but it also helps you appreciate that moment more. The act of taking photos can engage a group, pushing them to be more focused on that moment. The association between photography and engagement are so strong, mindful photography exists!

This is especially important for seniors since isolation can be debilitating over time.

Another study looked at the relationship between photography and memory, specifically how looking at old photos can help stimulate memory in older adults. excellent form of self-expression, it can be a powerful therapeutic and health-promoting activity for people of all ages! They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but it’s become clear that it may be even more valuable to your health!

Pictures are a way to capture – by freezing in time- these moments we can’t hold on to but would like to re-live again and again. Moments such as a baby’s first steps, infancy – childhood in general, the first day of school all the way through college graduation, weddings, anniversaries, landmark birthdays, homecomings etc. the list goes on.

Photographs have a way of bringing us back to a particular time, place or memory. You remember how you felt, what you saw, etc. Why not feel this way as often as you can? Be reminded of this beauty all the time by printing these memories.

2019 study from the University of Cambridge in England found that the ability to remember pleasant events in detail is associated with lower cortisol levels and fewer negative self-appraisals in young people at risk for depression due to early life stress.

Reminders of happy memories can bring back pleasant feelings tied to the original experience, suggesting an intrinsic value in reminiscing about the positive past.

How to Preserve those Cherished Memories

Pictures offer us a great way to preserve our special memories

Pictures are often associated with the tangible object depicting a scene,

As the old adage goes “seeing is believing”; and pictures are the present’s eyes in the past. I believe it goes without saying that most – if not of all us- have family, friends, moments, and/or experiences from the past we would love to pass on to our children. Pictures are the perfect medium for this educational experience. Sharing a story about a grandparent is wonderful, but seeing that picture of them makes the engagement much more profound.
