Did you know, the first few minutes after we wake up, is when we have a dream hangover. This is a term often used in Robert mosses books. Robert is a shaman and talks a lot about working through dreams in life. Very recently I wrapped up my last podcast recording for this season with award winning author Suresh Ramaswamy. His book Just Be, is an amazing book on meditative practices dealing with light. I will write a different post on that maybe. But I will attach the podcast link incase you would like to hear it.

But going back to dreams , even Suresh in his book speaks about lucid dreaming and he speaks about using dreams for meditative purposes and not manifestation, as many people often do. I thought I would just make a few points on how these two authors and a couple of others who have worked with the dream space suggest exploring it.

1. You need to have a clear intention before going to bed, you want to be aware during sleep.

2. Don’t drink alcohol or caffeine before sleeping

3. Don’t watch too much media or content

4. To get into that lucid state ,happens actually when there is lack of sleep. Sometimes it helps putting an alarm in the middle of the night, so you wake-up and when you fall back to sleep you can enter a lucid state more easily.

5. The moment you wake up, write down what you remember, sometimes it might be just a feeling, a dream journal is very important. As you keep a record you will find clues to what your dreams are trying to convey.

6. It takes time but don’t give up.

Now what can you achieve if you can stay aware through the night, well it seems plenty.

1. Anything done in the dream space, like meditation, is ten times more powerful.

2. Suresh, told me if you can use dream space properly you can get rid of emotions that are binding, loops.

3. Robert , speaks of meeting spirit guides, he talks about it a lot because of his shamanic tradition.

4. Slowly one gets the ability to keep revisiting a dream to get guidance.

5. Waking time becomes more powerful if one is aware during dream space.

I know there are manifestation abilities that one can use as well, but like I mentioned Suresh Ramaswamy, was very clear he speaks about it from the point of spiritual progress.  Robert moss also tends to steer towards the idea of unity, and even though he talks about creating a future, it always wavers back to the idea of finding your true self.
