Jai Bajrangbali !!!

We all believe in some or the other god (unless you are an atheist). It depends on whom we have faith the most or who grants our wishes fast. I am a devotee of lord Hanuman. He has created lot of miracles in my life. I will write about them some other time. Even former USA president Obama is an ardent devotee of lord Hanuman. A statuette of Lord Hanuman is among few items that Obama always carries in his pocket and seeks inspiration from whenever he feels tired or discouraged. Today I want to share a secret of achieving your goals. If with all your heart, on a Tuesday or a Saturday if you read Hanuman Chalisa 100 times, you will definitely achieve your goal.

Hanuman Chalisa was composed by Goswami Tulsidas. Tulsidas (1497/1532–1623) was a Hindu poet-saint, reformer and philosopher renowned for his devotion of Lord Rama. A composer of several popular works, he is best known for being the author of the epic Ramcharitmanas, a retelling of the Ramayana in the vernacular Awadhi language. Tulsidas was acclaimed in his lifetime to be a reincarnation of Valmiki, the composer of the original Ramayana in Sanskrit. Tulsidas lived in the city of Varanasi until his death. The Tulsi Ghat in Varanasi is named after him. He founded the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple dedicated to Hanuman in Varanasi, believed to stand at the place where he had the darshan of Hanuman.

 Sri Hanuman Chalisa is a prayer meant to invoke Bajrang Bali ji. It consists of forty couplets (known as Chaupayi ) in Awadhi.Did you know how hanuman chalisa was composed? The story goes like this, during the 16th century, Sanskrit scholars were dominant and they looked down upon all those who couldn’t speak Sanskrit or those who did not promote Sanskrit. Tulsidas was one of those; he refused to succumb to their pressures and was using Awadhi language to praise the glory of lord Ram. Fearing his growing popularity, these scholars instigated the then emperor Akbar, who based on their allegations imprisoned Tulsidas. It was then Tulsidas composed the powerful Hanuman Chalisa in jail. It took him 40 days to compose. It is said he recited the Hanuman Chalisa hundreds of times. Upon doing so, a large hoard of uncontrollable monkeys laid siege on the jail in which Tulsidas was imprisoned. Akbar’s forces failed to control the monkeys who had created havoc in the prison as well as in the royal palace.  Akbar’s advisors informed him that this was because of capturing the great Brahmin, Tulsidas and his bhakti towards Lord Hanuman.  Immediately, Akbar apologized to Tulsidas and released him. When this happened, monkeys stopped their chaos and went out of the city. Such is the power in Hanuman Chalisa.

There is a stanza in Hanuman chalisa “Jo Sat Baar Paath Kar Koi. Chutahi Bandhi Maha Sukh Hoyi”.Sat means, 100 in avadhi and not 7 as many people assume. Reciting hanuman chalisa 100 times in a day will ease all your troubles and help you achieve your goal.

For those modernists who have never respected our scriptures, here is another secret. In Hanuman Chalisa, there is a line which says “Yug Sahasra Yojan par Bhanu, leelyo Thaahi Madhur phal jaanu” meaning Hanuman jumped to catch sun at a specific distance thinking it as sweet fruit. When we translate, we get:-

Yug = 12000 years

Sahasra = 1000

Yojan = 8 miles

Bhanu = Sun

When we multiply, 12000 x 1000 x 8, we get 96,000,000 miles and when you convert to km by multiplying by 1.6 we get 153,600,000 kms. Distance between Sun and earth by NASA ranges from 149,597,870 km to 152,171,522 km, as the orbit is slightly elliptical. Forget the accuracy; do you think this is coincidence? NASA publishes the same 2 centuries later.

 Recitation of hanuman Chalisa is known to nullify negative energies around us. It is also known as a remedy against all astrological ills(especially Shani Maharaj). It is said that worshiping Lord Hanuman is one of the best ways to impress Shani Dev and reduce the effects of Sade Sati. According to the stories, Lord Hanuman saved the life of Shani Dev and that is when Shani Dev said that he will not harm a true devotee of Hanuman. All can recite it; but one must keep its sanctity in mind-no non veg ,carnal desires ,impure thoughts and deeds-during its recital.
