A lot in life
can simply disappear
by not dwelling too long
on pointless rants
that neither have a beginning
nor an end

In life’s giant cupboard
not everything is useless though
sure there are corners
that gather dust
dark and silent
maybe even full of mistrust

But pull drawers of togetherness
and warmth
and there’s joy staring at you
like a new puppy in the house
wide eyed and hungry
for your affectionate touch

In the years gone by
ten for sure if not more
all that was lost
has done me good
now this life is true
a sacred reflection of my divine Guru

Look at life’s irony will you
when everyone walks out
He walks in
no questions asked
from where have you come
and what have you done

A simple smile of acceptance
a heap of love
swimming in those kind quiet eyes
oh what to say of His speech
it’s as if God has spoken
and your life has taken a new turn

I wish I could say to those in pain
lost and wandering
so many in vain
if only you can hold on
to His grace-giving feet
holier than holy in time you shall be

When life is a behemoth
charging at a great speed
He’s the gentle breeze
to stop the raging beast
with a gentle shush
a disarming word

O kind master
I pray the sweet Sun of your grace
rises in many a broken lives
may they too find deliverance at your hands
peace in their hearts
by gazing long at your pristine form

O granter of boons
You who heal all wounds
why your laughter is like lightning in the sky
delighting even the most frosted hearts
with the promise of rain
Oh You are but the rain of grace
