SEXUALITY AND SPIRITUALITY

When OSHO launched his book from sex to superconsciousness in april 1979, it raised many eyebrows. I was 6 years old then and I didn’t get a chance to read it then (LOL)…

Jokes apart , I read few pages , didn’t want to go into the details of the book ,about 12 years ago ! From my own experience, what I could relate to , in  the book is what I wish to share with you all seekers of divinity , specially the householders , since I am a married man with a kind housewife and a cute daughter.

How sex can be used as a tool to reach the awakened state is so simple and can be practiced by anyone with few guidelines. Since I use the most basic tantra ideology and the wisdom I improvised is a cocktail of the teachings of various awakened masters , common people of the society and the greatest teacher i.e. nature itself !

Try to understand that sexuality has been used as a booby trap since time immemorial… the best example I find is sage VISHAMITRA who created disturbance amongst god by his sheer meditation so potent that people could go to heaven with their mortal bodies ( this was his original plan ) Indra is worried about the intensity of Vishwamitra’s ascetic practice as it would give the sage enormous powers. He sends Menaka to seduce him and nullify his penance. Menaka enters the forest where Vishwamitra is absorbed in his penance and transforms it into a beautiful garden. Then, Vayu blows by and lifts Menaka’s garments. Vishwamitra opens his eyes to see an exquisitely beautiful woman, almost naked, standing before him in a lush and lovely garden. Of course, he drops his ascetic practice and makes love to her and their story continues…

Now majority of people who read osho’s book just thought that engaging in sex will lead them to nirvana … ( if this was true … every man and woman engaged in sex , whether married or unmarried would have been enlightened by now ) and we would be an utopian society by now…

People don’t understand why sex is addictive…

People fail to acknowledge that even in sex there is element of tamas,rajas and satva …

The starting point is tamas (when there is a sexual urge (without mindfulness) the act itself is rajasic and the thoughtlessness just after the culmination of orgasm is satva  ( this is the hidden secret of a moment of thoughtless awareness which most people miss) general public)this was OSHO’S message that this glimpse of thoughtless awareness when extended through meditation becomes superconsciousness )

Now comes the real thing…

There are only 2 scenarios when the sexual act becomes divine…(this is practiced by the spiritually inclined )

1       if it is done for procreation only.(dedicated married couples )

2       if it is done to practice vajroli/sahjoli as in tantra by practioners (marriage is not mandatory( very very strict protocol for people devoted to yoga only)

In both cases when the kundalini arouses it will only strike the right point in the Pranamaya kosha i.e. the energy sheath that will open the actual doorway to the spiritual dimensions .

I have been successful in becoming a mere witness during the act while participating in it ( will sound strange )

As a householder , practicing basic kriya yoga ( as taught by my inner guru since a traditional kriya yogi didn’t give me diksha for 10 years … i decided that the divine will teach me now…. ( meditation i learnt from my GURU ) i could finally know ” who i am “

Now come to the booby trap of ‘MAYA’ the illusion…

Maya doesn’t want a man to get liberated so it uses sex as the most deadly weapon to disturb a seeker’s devotion to get awakened .You will find in today’s world how sex is being misused in any field for vested interests )

If, I repeat if, your mind is not pure then don’t even think of using sex as a tool to get awakened . The kundalini is like a boomrang … either it will hit the target or will return and hit the participant .

My first attempt around 2010 (don’t remember exactly) I was unmarried , practicing unguided meditation, siddhis started coming ,had suppressed sexual urges  as a result when the kundalini arose… I could not handle … became mad ,had a near death experience in a motorcycle accident, saved miraculously, underwent psychiatric treatment… recovered and the search continued …

On 30th may 2022 had a great mystical experience… did a 90 days mild sadhana and again on 30 august 2022 … had an experience (classified )which has transformed me completely .( this time i used jyoti mudra or yoni mudra … luckily no sexual urges/thoughts as during last time… finally well maintained control over the mind) 

Clarity of mind achieved and love for the humanity like never before !
