I wanted to be free,
So walked the carefree path,
Wandering and roaming,
Without any structure,
Without any discipline.

Although freedom came none,
For the wandering and carefree,
Gave entanglements many,
And the chains they carry,
Slaved me more,
By me and only me.

With a lot of burns,
I took the turns,
And as the paradox of life,
Choose to discipline I,
To gain freedom in the vast sky,
And make me soar high.

Doubts came many,
As discipline seemed self-slavery,
Despite I walked the path ahead,
And thus realized,
Discipline gave the freedom,
To achieve whatever I wanted in life.

Paradoxically, discipline sets you free. It gives you the freedom to do anything, to accomplish anything, to be anything you want.
To the one who is disciplined, knowledge, wisdom, success, solutions come automatically. Einstein once said, “It’s not that I am so smart. It’s just that I stay with problems longer.” Discipline is about persistence with conviction. When you carry on with what you have to do, whether or not you like it, that is discipline. If you find ways to be positive and like it, following any discipline becomes easier.
