An attempt on Autobiographical Memoirs – Series 31

Out of 100 colonies with me, 25 were stationed permanently at Hatkoti, 25 were kept at White House Doiwala and 60 colonies were given to my nephew Mr. Surender Singh Chauhan to his accomplished services stationed at Jallauli village in Panchkula Haryana. Now I looked after my bees at Hatkoti and Doiwala by to and fro visits to both places. It was proven fact that bees can be survived year the around in stationary practices if they are accurately and timely fed by artificial sugar syrup to keep their moral up, to feed their brood by ample supply of pollen grains from the anthers of flowers around, once that process is over and followed by the time of nectar flow, they automatically reject the artificial sugar syrup to regain the natural nectar from the flora available outside around their crow flight upto three to four km. of their radial vicinity. Once Colonies permanently stationed at Hatkoti were well managed per- season in the months of February and March, we were able to gun up those colonies with ample strength of worker bees to fire on the nectar droplets of Apple flora in plenty, though for that short duration of a month in April, we could have managed one extraction in super chambers every year. This requires an ample skill in breeding activities to prepare timely large strength of worker bees to collect for us honey crop, simultaneously they will act in giving pollination services to the Apple Orchardists in enhancing their at least 25% extra apple crop every year. Similarly we managed at Doiwala the June flow of jungle honey from jamun and  Jamoa flower by strengthening the colonies on litchi and toria pollen, we were able to extract a handsome flow of jungle honey with heavy weight of single frame weighing three to four kg each in 8 frame super chambers. That was a surprising flow of jungle honey I ever saw during my carrier as a bee farmer.
