Dear Readers,

Today I want to share my belief about an Avatar or what does I understand when I use the word Avatar or incarnation.

It reminds me of the movie Om Shanti Om and it’s famous line, “इतनी शिद्दत से मैंने तुम्हे पाने की कोशिश की है कि हर जर्रे ने मुझे तुमसे मिलाने की शाजिस की है।” An incarnation in nutshell is an outcome of his/her sankalpa and sadhana. I don’t think God comes to the womb of a mother and become incarnated. If this would be the case then none of the incarnations would have to go to the Gurukula.

To my limited understanding everyone amongst us has the capability to become an incarnation of God. When a Sadhaka on his/her path of self realisation has some unfulfilled desire which becomes impossible for him/her to overcome on its own then Mother Divine herself satisfy the desire for the Sadhaka so that he/she can attain nirvikalpa samadhi. If that desire is about Global wellbeing or protection of Dharma then the whole Universe and it’s energies start manifesting to fulfill that wish of the Sadhaka. The Sadhaka here is just a witness, the work is done behind the scenes but the world sees the Sadhaka or let’s say the Yogi as the doer and consider him/her as an Avatar or Incarnation.

It all depends on our bhavana.

भाव ही भगवान है।

Please let me know what you think about this subject.

Your well-wisher,

Sumit Om.
