“The law of nature is, do the thing, and you shall have the power: but they who do not the thing have not the power” ~~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
This simply implies that the things you do every day, the things that look like they don’t matter, do matter. They not only make a difference but also make all the difference.
I was reading a book by Jeff Olson, ‘The Philosophy of Slight Edge’, in which the author rightly gave a valuable insight: “The daily decisions we make either move us closer or further away from our goals or dreams. So, the important part is to stay committed for a long period to the thing that matters the most to us.”
We all have heard of this old quote: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a small step.”
Thus, success is the progressive realisation of a worthy ideal. It is progress, and not a destination where we have to reach.
It’s Time to Take Action
Show up consistently with a good attitude towards your goal or aspiration. Because, if you add a little to a little, and do this several times, soon that little becomes great. Have faith and a burning desire and also be willing to pay the price in terms of sacrifice or lost opportunity.
So, embark on this journey of continuous improvement and learning by doing.
“Be not afraid of going slowly;
Be afraid only of standing still”.
