“Self Help is the Best Help” is an old proverb and it has some deep meanings. It indicates a situation of a person where he or she becomes fully confident and can do everything in his life himself. It is a very important part of life. Everyone needs to become self-confident and need to depend on themselves.

We have some duties as humans. We need to live a good life, study, work and take care of our family. When you become self dependent, then you can help others. But if you are depending on someone else, it is not possible to help others.

Self Help actually means self depending. There are lots of obstacles in life that you will face when you are alone. But when you will start being advanced, things will be easier for you. And finally with your efforts and hard work you will become self dependent.

Beautiful example of this proverb….

Once upon a time, there lived an honest cart driver in a small village. He belonged to a poor family but he always worked hard no matter what. He used to carry heavy loads on his cart every day. The cart driver was a true man and he used to do his work willingly. He had immense faith in the god. He never forgot to thank god for his well-being. He had prayed to him every day. One day, his cart’s wheel got stuck in the mud. Without putting any effort, he started complaining god. He started praying loudly, “Oh god, please help me!” God did not answer. Cart driver, looking at the sky, said even more loudly, “God, aren’t you listening? Please help me!”God liked the cart driver a lot. He spoke to him and said, “Put your shoulders to the wheels. Never pray to me for help until you have done your best to help yourself”. The cart driver tried to take his cart out of the mud. He tried and tried. He finally got success

Conclusion: Self-help is the best help and therefore it should be cultivated by everybody. It will not only make us smart and active, but solve many of our problems automatically. Great men in history have always preached self-help, because it is a quality that makes a man great. One can become self-made only through self-help. Children should be taught this by their parents and parents must practice it before they teach because God help those who help themselves.
