“If you are lonely when you’re alone, you are in bad company” ( Jean Paul Sartre)
This statement of Jean Paul Sartre holds the crux of when I say Solitude is Bliss. We often confuse Solitude with Loneliness but there is a huge contrasting difference between the two. While solitude is a positive state, loneliness is a negative one. Loneliness is the state of being alone where one feels isolated. On the other hand, Solitude is a state of being alone without being lonely. Loneliness is a feeling of emptiness whereas Solitude is a feeling of fulfillment.
Ego always craves for the company but when there is no company expect the self, the ego disappears leaving behind a blissful state.
In Solitude, there is no pain, emptiness or feeling of isolation. It is the conscious effort to remain alone or away from the societical bondages where one can give time to oneself. Solitude is the way to self discovery and self realization. In Solitude we get the opportunity to enjoy our company; to seek answers within; to know us and eventually to find ourselves. In Solitude, ego tends to disappear. Ego always craves for the company but when there is no company expect the self, the ego disappears leaving behind a blissful state.
Solitude indeed is Bliss!!!!!!
